Harmony, an exclusive new lake community west of Calgary, has a lot of families flocking to build their life here. Located in Springbank, this Harmony Calgary neighbourhood is envisioned to have all the best features of rural and suburban living with easy access to the city. Living in Harmony feels like a vacation spot most days as it centres around a 35-acre waterfront village.

Harmony is a sustainably built, master-planned community that offers residences of every type of home, including artists’ lofts, townhomes, villas and estate homes. The neighbourhoods of Harmony are being created by some of the best home builders Calgary has to offer.

Ready to learn more about Harmony? This Calgary Community Spotlight is here to shine a light on a new place to live just outside of Calgary and what you can expect if you choose to build your new home in this award-winning community.

GREAT SELECTION OF BUILDERS & HOME STYLES

If you’re after a specific kind of home for your lifestyle, you’ll appreciate the choice of home builders Harmony has to offer.

Looking for a single family home? Sterling Homes, Broadview Homes, and Daytona Homes specialize in this home style and have a wide variety of floor plans to choose from. Nuvista Homes also offers attached bungalow villas if that’s more your style.

If a townhome is more your type, Harmony Townhomes by Streetside is a great choice. And for the higher-end home options including estate and lakefront homes, Augusta Homes and Baywest Homes can create the luxurious life you want here in Harmony.

NEIGHBOURHOOD GREEN SPACE

Green space is a hallmark of the planned Harmony Calgary community, with 25 kilometres of winding trails and walkways planned to take residents from their homes to the Village Center and Mickelson Golf Course.

A number of parks and playgrounds will be included in the 600 acres reserved for recreation and conservation. This former ranchland with its inspiring views of the Rockies is less than 30 kilometres west of Calgary, making it possible to live in a natural setting with an easy commute to the city.

MICKELSON NATIONAL GOLF COURSE

Plans for this nearly 8,000-yard-long golf course are based on input from Professional Golfers’ Association of America (PGA) pro Phil Mickelson, winner of five major PGA competitions. The golf course east of Harmony will include varying elevations and challenging water features.

The PGA-quality course will be spread over 240 acres and, through the Homeowners Association, all residents will be enrolled in a social membership. This membership will include invitations to all social events and access to the Mickelson National Clubhouse, which has recently broken ground and will be truly a state-of-the-art facility.

ENJOY THE BEST OF LAKEFRONT LIVING

Whether homeowners live in the village next to the lake or in other parts of the community, lake access will always be available. The planned boathouse will rent fishing and sailing equipment to make the most of living near a lake well-stocked with fish. Water from the Bow River will flow into the professionally engineered man-made lake system. The pristine lake dovetails with a world-class water treatment facility, and a complete water system has been expertly designed to serve the community.

A 40-acre lake has already been constructed, and the adjoining 100-acre lake is next to be installed while the next stages of the community are being completed. Once the Beach Club has been built, rentals of kayaks and other non-motorized craft will be available for lake enjoyment.

When they’re not out on the water, residents will be able to walk from their homes to visit the village shops, have a cup of coffee or enjoy a lakeside dinner. The full vision for this community can be found here.

CLOSE ACCESS TO AMENITIES IN SPRINGBANK AND COCHRANE

While there are some exciting plans already in place for new amenities in Harmony, it’s nice knowing you are next to the neighbouring community of Springbank and only a 10-minute drive away from Cochrane.

In Springbank, right next to the Trans Canada Highway, construction is already underway for Bingham Crossing, which will be like a better version of CrossIron Mills. This new shopping and lifestyle mega-centre is flipping the traditional mall experience inside out. There will be a healthy mixture of local business, great dining options and big brand outlets, with open-air gathering spaces throughout. It’s a perfect blend of a traditional commercial development with the feel of a mall, making it easy to park and head into one store or walk around for a big shopping spree.

If you have kids or are planning on starting a family in Harmony, you’ll be pleased to know the area is already being served by three public schools in the Rocky View School District; Elbow Valley Elementary School (K-4), Springbank Middle School (5-8), and Springbank Community High School (9-12).

COUNTRY LIVING WITH ALL THE AMENITIES

Owning a home in Harmony will allow families to live in rural paradise and still have access to the job opportunities, culture and nightlife of Calgary. Land has been set aside for the construction of a local elementary school and there will be pocket parks throughout the community.

Plan your visit and tour the show homes that are currently on display in Harmony so you can get a better feel for what your life could be like in this wonderful, new Calgary area community.
